Putting The Sizzle Back In Your Summer
June 19th, 2014
Summertime. Even as an adult, there’s something about Summer that feels different. Maybe it is all those years of summer vacation – that expansive feeling of freedom – an opportunity to be on less of a schedule, to explore the unknown, to be adventurous. So much possibility. Add that to all the flowers blooming, more light longer each day, warmer temperatures, bare feet, lower necklines – do you get my drift? The smell of Summer has the power to make you feel more alive. Dare I say, more juicy? Maybe you’re feeling extra sexy this Summer….or maybe you’re just wishing you were. If there’s one thing most of my female patients request, it’s restoration of their long lost libido – often accompanied by decreased sexual function as well (not being able to get aroused like they used to, less toe-curling orgasms, even discomfort and pain with sex). This stuff is way more common than you think, Ladies. Here’s the good news: balancing your hormones can help.
And I don’t only mean balancing estrogen and progesterone, although they are often the lynchpin in the picture of dwindling sexual function. There are many other players involved including testosterone and DHEA (our ‘male hormones’ or androgens), stress hormones like cortisol, and hormone/neurotransmitters like oxytocin, serotonin, and dopamine. By looking at the rich interplay of these chemicals and the ways in which diet, lifestyle, supplements, herbs and hormones can support optimal balance, we can help revitalize not only your sex life, but your energy, sleep, mood, and overall quality of life.
So who’s ready to get their mojo back?
On June 26th at 6pm, I will give a complimentary talk, ‘Healthy Hormones, Sex, and Longevity’. The talk will explore an integrative approach to hormone balance appropriate for women with menstrual and menopausal issues of all kinds including hot flashes, sleep disturbance, fatigue, anxiety, depression and bleeding irregularities, with a focus on the use of bio-identical hormones alone or together with supplements and herbs. I will, of course, also give ample time to the subject of improving libido and overall sexual function.
Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Please call 408-369-4250 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your spot. I hope to see you there!
